Laboratory of regional social-economical research

Khavinson Mikhail Yur’evich, Ph.D., is a senior researcher, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists (ICARP FEB RAS), member of the Council of Young Scientists (FEB RAS), member of the Council of Young Scientists of Jewish Autonomous Region, at the Institute since 2006.
In 2000 he graduated from Birobidzhan High School no. 5 (graduation with honors, award - gold medal “For Outstanding Academic Achievements”).
In 2005 he graduated from Birobidzhan State Pedagogical Institute (now Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Sholom-Aleichem Priamursky State University”), Department of Mathematics and Informatics (graduation with honors - red diploma); he has additional postgraduate degree in specialty “English”.
In 2009, he obtained his postgraduate degree in specialty 05.13.18 “Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Methods, and Complexes of Programs”, from the Institute for Complex Analysis of Regional Problems FEB RAS.
In 2013, he got his PhD degree, dissertation “Construction and Investigation of Basic Mathematical Models of the Dynamics of the Employed Population in the Regional Economy (on the example of the Jewish Autonomous Region),” specialty 08.00.13 “Mathematical and Tool Methods of Economics” (Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia).

His key research areas include mathematical modeling of social and economic processes in the region, Synergetics, and Econophysics.
